West Sea Coast Guard Agency Conducts Active Aerial Patrols to Prevent Accidents During Spring Outing Season
Strengthening Surveillance of Whale Hunting, Illegal Immigration, and Illegal Fishing Activities... Also Conducting Red Tide and Sargassum Monitoring Activities
The Seohae Regional Coast Guard Agency (Chief Kim Inchang) will conduct active aerial patrols to prevent maritime accidents as the spring outing season begins in earnest.
According to the Seohae Coast Guard on the 15th, April sees an increase in visitors to coastal and island areas along with rising temperatures, and the risk of accidents grows as foggy waters become more frequent around this time.
Accordingly, the Seohae Coast Guard has decided to strengthen maritime safety activities through patrol vessels and actively carry out preventive patrols using aircraft.
The Coast Guard will increase patrol activities to ensure the safety of spring outing visitors by deploying patrol planes from the Muan Fixed-Wing Aviation Unit, as well as helicopters from the Mokpo, Yeosu, and Gunsan Aviation Units, and will enhance maritime safety efforts for distant fishing boats and fishing vessels operating at sea.
In addition, they will increase surveillance activities against illegal fishing by foreign vessels during the fishing moratorium, violations of fishing zones, whale hunting, and illegal immigration, while also actively engaging in marine environmental patrols such as monitoring the distribution of red tides and Sargassum horneri.
