One Shot Dead, Another Killed by Car Collision
Two wild boars that appeared in downtown Daegu were either shot by authorities or killed by a vehicle.
The Daegu Fire and Safety Headquarters announced that at around 4:45 a.m. on the 15th, a report was received about wild boars roaming near the Northern Bus Terminal. Upon verification by the fire authorities, it was confirmed that a total of two wild boars appeared in the city center.

View original imageThe police shot one wild boar at around 6:15 a.m. inside the grounds of Inji Elementary School in Bisan-dong, Seo-gu, Daegu. The other wild boar was hit by a vehicle earlier at around 6 a.m. near Nogokgyo Bridge on Sincheon-daero. The fire authorities confirmed the carcass of one wild boar on Sincheon-daero at 6:14 a.m. It was reported that four vehicles and 22 personnel were deployed to capture the wild boars. Fortunately, there were no casualties caused by the wild boar appearances.
A police official stated, "Due to concerns over African Swine Fever (ASF) infection, we had no choice but to shoot the wild boar."
