HD Hyundai Samho Graduates 100th Class of Trainees from Technical Training Center
Since its founding in October 1999, over 4,500 graduates and a cradle for regional shipbuilding industry development
This year, plans to train about 170 people, with new trainees to be recruited in early May
HD Hyundai Samho (CEO Shin Hyun-dae) Technical Training Center has played a pivotal role in the development of the local shipbuilding industry by producing its 100th batch of trainees 24 years after the company's establishment.
On the 12th, HD Hyundai Samho announced that it held the ‘100th Technical Trainee Completion Ceremony’ at the company’s Technical Training Center, attended by about 30 people including CEO Shin Hyun-dae and other related personnel.
A total of 27 technical trainees graduated at this ceremony. They entered the program in February and acquired skills through theory and practice in the fitting and outfitting fields. All of them have been employed by partner companies and will receive preferential treatment when applying for production technology positions at HD Hyundai Samho in the future.
At the '100th Technical Trainee Graduation Ceremony' held on the 12th at HD Hyundai Samho Technical Training Center, President Shin Hyundai and about 30 trainees celebrated the completion by shouting "Fighting."

At the ceremony, CEO Shin Hyun-dae said, “This completion ceremony marks the beginning of a new journey,” and encouraged the trainees by stating, “Your role goes beyond simply producing ships; you will become the foundation that supports Korea’s basic industries.”
The HD Hyundai Samho Technical Training Center occupies a 17,500㎡ site with three buildings and four practice facilities. It conducts training for new shipbuilding personnel and skill enhancement for current employees. Recently, it has also provided job training and Korean language education for foreign workers from E7 and E9 visa categories.
Since the company’s founding in October 1999, the center has produced over 4,500 technical trainees, who are now key personnel driving the development of the shipbuilding industry in the southwestern region.
This year, the HD Hyundai Samho Technical Training Center plans to train about 170 technical trainees and will begin recruiting new trainees in early May.

An HD Hyundai Samho official emphasized, “The recent intensifying manpower shortage in the shipbuilding industry highlights how crucial the training of skilled personnel is for industrial development,” adding, “Our Technical Training Center will continue to make every effort to cultivate the skilled workforce needed by the local shipbuilding industry, which has entered a boom phase.”
