The Republic of Korea Navy, the United States Navy, and the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force conducted a trilateral naval exercise in international waters south of Jeju from April 11 to 12. The exercise involved six warships from the three countries, including the ROK Navy's Aegis destroyer Seoe Ryu Seong-ryong, the U.S. Navy's aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt, Aegis destroyers USS Howard, USS Daniel Inouye, and USS Russell, and the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force destroyer Ariake. This exercise was carried out as part of the implementation of a multi-year trilateral training plan jointly established by the military authorities of the three countries following the Camp David agreement in August 2023.
