On the 12th, Gyeonggi Province announced that this year it will support a total of 2.7366 billion KRW for 14 projects in 4 areas: ▲establishing an economic self-reliance foundation ▲supporting the formation of ‘healthy families’ ▲communication, harmony, and awareness improvement projects targeting both South and North Korean residents ▲and strengthening integrated safety management to resolve settlement crises for North Korean defectors.
First, to establish an economic self-reliance foundation, the province will promote employment training and certification support, provide internship opportunities for job seekers, and expand economic participation opportunities through busking performances at the South-North border office.
Additionally, as part of supporting the formation of ‘healthy families,’ customized child-rearing coaching for caregivers of infants and toddlers and cultural experience programs for families of long-term employees will be conducted.
Communication, harmony, and awareness improvement projects include South-North Korean family pairing programs, a Unification Golden Bell project for youth, and communication and harmony projects tailored to the characteristics of 14 cities and counties within the province.
Furthermore, as part of strengthening integrated safety management, the province plans to identify and provide focused support to individuals in crisis through six adaptation centers across the province.
