Goheung Agricultural and Marine Products Target Paris Olympics, $3 Million Export Agreement

Gohung-gun, Jeonnam announced on the 11th that the ‘Gohung-gun Agricultural and Marine Products Europe Export Pioneering Team,’ led by County Governor Gong Young-min, signed a three-year export agreement worth 3 million USD with ACE FOOD SAS (CEO Lee Sang-hyo) in Paris, France, for Gohung agricultural and marine products.

ACE FOOD SAS is a distribution company with seven local directly operated stores in the center of Paris. Last year, its sales amounted to approximately 20 billion KRW, mainly specializing in Korean ingredients and supplying them to the French market.

Governor Gong Young-min said, “ACE FOOD SAS and Gohung-gun have strategically prepared to develop and launch new yuzu-related products tailored to local tastes, capitalizing on the K-food craze and the special market demand for the 2024 Paris Olympics.” He added, “This agreement will replace Japanese yuzu (YUZU) with Gohung yuzu (YUZA), and the yuzu beverage made from the uniquely fragrant Gohung yuzu concentrate is expected to create a significant buzz in the French market ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics.”

CEO Lee Sang-hyo of ACE FOOD SAS stated, “Our company supplies Korean agricultural and marine products to 80% of Korean restaurants in France.

We are also leading the K-food craze among locals through our directly operated stores,” and added, “Through this agreement, we will distribute various processed agricultural and marine products such as Gohung yuzu tea, yuzu beverages, and Gohung gim in the Paris market, aiming to grow together with Gohung-gun.”

A Gohung-gun official said, “While expanding the production base for high-quality Gohung yuzu, we will develop products suited to the tastes of local French consumers and broaden the global export market through overseas marketing of Gohung agricultural and marine products.”
