Hyundai Wia Participates in South America's Largest Defense Exhibition
Hyundai Wia announced on the 11th that it participated in the international aerospace exhibition FIDAE 2024 held in Santiago, Chile, showcasing advanced weapon systems. This event is the largest defense industry exhibition in Latin America, which opened on the 9th (local time) and will be held for six days.
The company exhibited a mobility-enhanced artillery system in the form of a mockup (display model). A representative example is the 105mm self-propelled howitzer, which is made lightweight to be mounted and operated on vehicles. This weapon system is being developed through the Defense Rapid Acquisition Technology Institute and the Rapid Research and Development Project, increasing range and reducing weight compared to existing self-propelled howitzers.
