Gyeonggi Province Reduces 'Road Occupancy Fees' by 25% Considering Economic Downturn and Recession
Gyeonggi Province has decided to reduce road occupancy fees by 25% this year to support residents facing difficulties due to the prolonged economic downturn.
The reduction targets small business owners, private entrepreneurs, and individuals, excluding public institutions and local public enterprises. Small business owners pay road occupancy fees when obtaining permits to use vehicle access roads of commercial buildings.
Previously, Gyeonggi Province first introduced a 25% reduction in road occupancy fees in 2020 to alleviate the economic burden on small business owners caused by COVID-19.
Currently, the number of cases scheduled for road occupancy fee imposition in 2024 across 31 cities and counties in the province is approximately 87,000. With this reduction, 22.9 billion KRW will be waived by the 31 cities and counties, and 2.1 billion KRW by Gyeonggi Province.
