View original imageIn the 22nd National Assembly election counting results, Daejeon saw the Democratic Party secure all 7 seats, replicating the situation from the 21st general election. The People Power Party suffered a crushing defeat, failing to produce a single winner.
In Daejeon Dong-gu, candidate Jang Cheol-min won re-election with 53.28% of the vote, defeating People Power Party candidate Yoon Chang-hyun who received 45.06%. The Reform New Party candidate Jeong Gu-guk garnered only 1.65% of the votes.
In Daejeon Jung-gu, which attracted attention as a contest between former district mayors, Democratic Party candidate Park Yong-gap secured 52.08% of the vote, surpassing People Power Party candidate Lee Eun-gwon who received 47.91%, successfully entering the National Assembly.

New Future candidate Ahn Pil-yong received 2.34%, and independent candidate Yoo Ji-gon got 3.39% of the votes.
In Seo-gu Eul, Democratic Party candidate Park Beom-gye won a fourth term with 54.58% of the vote, outpacing People Power Party candidate Yang Hong-gyu who received 42.87%. Reform New Party candidate Jo Dong-woon received 2.01%, and Liberty Korea Party candidate Lee Ji-hoon got 0.52%.
In Yuseong Gap, Democratic Party candidate Jo Seung-rae secured a third term with 56.77% of the vote, defeating People Power Party candidate Yoon So-sik who received 40.84%. Reform New Party candidate Wang Hyun-min received 2.37% of the votes.
In Yuseong Eul, Democratic Party candidate Hwang Jeong-a was elected with 59.26% of the vote, overwhelmingly defeating People Power Party candidate Lee Sang-min, who was seeking a sixth term and received 37.69%. New Future candidate Kim Chan-hoon received 3.04%.

In the Jung-gu mayoral by-election, Democratic Party candidate Kim Je-seon won with 50%, becoming a mayor from a civic group background. New Future candidate Yoon Yang-soo received 8.83%, Reform New Party candidate Kwon Jung-soon got 6.67%, and independent candidate Lee Dong-han, former acting mayor of Jung-gu, received 34.49% of the votes.
