Two cargo trucks collided on the highway late at night, resulting in the death of one driver.
According to the Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency and Gyeongnam Fire Headquarters on the 10th, at around 11:08 PM on the 9th, an 8.6-ton truck and an 8.5-ton truck collided near the Changnyeong Interchange (IC) on the Jungbu Naeryuk Expressway in Changnyeong-gun, Gyeongnam.
The accident occurred in the second lane of the two-lane one-way road heading toward Yangpyeong, when the 8.5-ton truck rear-ended the 8.6-ton truck ahead.
The driver of the 8.6-ton truck, a man in his 60s, was seriously injured and transported to the hospital in cardiac arrest but ultimately passed away.
At the time of the accident, it was determined that the cruise control of the leading vehicle had been disengaged, causing its speed to decrease.
