Mokpo National University Holds 'MNU Core Competencies and Extracurricular Activities Briefing' for New Students
Providing Customized Extracurricular Program Information for a Successful College Life
The Office of Educational Innovation at Mokpo National University (President Song Ha-cheol) announced on the 10th that it held the ‘2024 MNU Core Competencies and Extracurricular Activities Orientation’ twice on the 2nd and 9th for about 1,180 freshmen of the 2024 academic year.
This event introduced the university’s talent vision and educational goals as core competencies, explained the necessity of core competency diagnosis and how to participate, and provided an opportunity to review the excellent achievements of the 2023 extracurricular programs through online exhibitions and student participation reviews of outstanding extracurricular cases, offering customized extracurricular program information for successful university life.

On the day, students were able to check their diagnostic results to identify strengths and areas for improvement, and to find recommended extracurricular programs to enhance their competencies.
Kim Young-min, a first-year student in the Global Studies Department who participated in the event, said, “I learned how to understand core competencies and want to participate in many extracurricular program activities.”

Professor Byun Gyeong-seok, head of the Office of Educational Innovation at Mokpo National University, stated, “Through this event, freshmen were guided to assess their competency levels in advance, set goals, and design a university life that suits them,” adding, “The Office of Educational Innovation will actively support freshmen for a successful university life.”
