Famous Instructor Who Threatened CSAT Supervisors Sent to Prosecution
Child Caught Cheating on CSAT
Supervisor Visits School and Makes Verbal Abuse
A famous instructor and his wife have been sent to the prosecution on charges of threatening a proctor after their child was caught cheating on the 2024 College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT).
According to the police on the 9th, the Yangcheon Police Station in Seoul recently sent Mr. A, a well-known instructor at a police officer exam academy and a lawyer, to the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office without detention on charges of intimidation and defamation. Mr. A's wife was also referred to the prosecution on defamation charges. The initially applied charge of violating the Personal Information Protection Act was dismissed due to insufficient evidence.
Earlier, Mr. A's child was caught cheating by a teacher proctor at a school in Seoul on November 16 last year, the day of the CSAT, when attempting to write answers after the exam end bell had rung.
Subsequently, Mr. A's wife held a one-person protest at the school where the proctor worked, claiming that their child did not cheat. Mr. A reportedly verbally abused the proctor, stating that since "you ruined our child's life, I will ruin yours too," emphasizing that he is a lawyer.
The Ministry of Education and the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education filed complaints with the police against Mr. A and his wife for intimidation, defamation, and violation of the Personal Information Protection Act.
