Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education Holds 'AI Gwangju Future Education Policy Briefing'

The Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education held the 'Turning Imagination into Reality, AI Gwangju Future Education Policy Briefing' on the 8th and 9th at the Gwangju Creative Convergence Education Center for about 500 vice principals, teachers, and education professionals from various schools.
According to the Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education on the 9th, this briefing focused on explaining key policies for AI Gwangju future education and directions for student-tailored education through AI and digital-based educational innovation, consisting of policy explanations and special lectures.
First, the background for introducing major projects and important considerations during implementation were shared. In addition, to enhance understanding of future education policies at the school level, support policies for activating AI future education in schools were introduced.
In particular, the briefing reflected school-level interest in digital transformation education, including ▲building AI future education environments ▲digital-based educational innovation ▲activation of AI future curricula ▲science and convergence education ▲formation of a sound information culture.
Following this, a special lecture titled 'Future Educational Environment Changing with AI and Digital' was held by inviting an AI expert.
The content was beneficial, covering the latest technology trends, generative AI, and cases of educational innovation using AI-based edutech. Especially, it provided a preview of the future of Gwangju education in the era of one-person-one-AI, utilizing personalized AI.
Superintendent Lee Jeong-seon stated, “We will develop Gwangju education to nurture future talents in the era of artificial intelligence,” and added, “Going forward, Gwangju education will strive to build educational infrastructure and promote digital-based educational innovation so that students, the main actors of future society, can grow in accordance with the changes of the times.”
