Gyeonggi-do, Recruiting Companies for University Student Employment Bridge Project Participation
Gyeonggi Province is recruiting companies to participate in the University Student Employment Bridge Project until the 24th of this month.
The University Student Employment Bridge Project is an initiative introduced by Gyeonggi Province to cultivate practical field-oriented talents by providing university students with on-site internship opportunities where they can gain practical experience while earning academic credits.
Gyeonggi Province selects companies with 10 or more regular employees that can operate on-site internships according to the Ministry of Education's announced "University Student On-site Internship Semester Operation Regulations." In particular, starting this year, certified venture companies with fewer than 10 employees but possessing technical capabilities will also be selected.
Companies participating in the project must conduct on-site internships for participating students and fulfill obligations such as signing labor contracts, paying wages at or above the minimum wage, and mandatory enrollment in the four major social insurances.
Gyeonggi Province provides participating companies with on-site internship operation support funds (1.5 million KRW per participating student per month) and mentor allowances (100,000 KRW per participating student per month). The operation periods are July to August (seasonal system) and September to December (semester system).
Park Sang-eung, Director of Education Cooperation at Gyeonggi Province, stated, "We hope many companies participate to contribute to cultivating practical field-oriented talents and that this will lead to the hiring of excellent personnel."
