Yeosu City to Tow Illegally Abandoned Electric Kickboards
From the 15th, from 9 AM to 6 PM, via Sinmin report
Yeosu City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Jeong Gi-myeong) announced that starting from the 15th, electric scooters left unattended within the city will be towed.
According to the city, electric scooters are an eco-friendly and convenient mode of transportation used by many people, but reckless riding and unattended parking have been causing safety hazards and inconvenience to pedestrians.
To resolve citizen inconveniences and prevent safety accidents, the city will conduct towing of unattended electric scooters through online civil complaint submissions from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays.
Towing zones are divided into areas with a 1-hour grace period and those with a 2-hour grace period based on the location of the unattended scooter.
The 1-hour grace period zones include ▲crosswalks ▲bus stops ▲braille blocks and traffic islands ▲building and commercial entrances and parking lot entrances, while all other areas fall under the 2-hour grace period zones.
If the scooters are not removed within the designated time in each zone, they will be towed and a towing fee of 15,000 KRW per scooter will be charged to the operating company.
Citizens can report by searching for "Yeosu City Electric Scooter Inconvenience Report" in the KakaoTalk open chat room and submitting their report. City officials will notify the reporter of the action taken after receiving the report.
