On March 21, Mayor Lee Jang-woo visited two tertiary general hospitals and promised, "Daejeon City will provide maximum support to maintain critical and emergency medical care directly related to citizens' lives."
The city designated two tertiary general hospitals (Chungnam National University Hospital, Konyang University Hospital) designated as regional emergency medical centers, and three local emergency medical centers (Eulji University Hospital, Daejeon St. Mary's Hospital, Daejeon Sun Hospital) among training hospitals at risk of disruption in essential medical services due to the departure of residents as support targets.
The emergency support fund will be used for hiring medical personnel to maintain essential medical services and for allowances related to the transfer and deployment of medical staff who remain on-site and dedicate themselves to patient care.
