A man in his 40s, a YouTuber who installed illegal cameras at dozens of polling stations for the April 10 general election, has been handed over to the prosecution.
On the 5th, Incheon Nonhyeon Police Station announced that they had sent Mr. A, a man in his 40s who was arrested on charges including trespassing and violation of the Communications Privacy Protection Act, to the prosecution. Mr. A is suspected of secretly breaking into early voting stations and counting centers nationwide, including Seoul, Busan, Incheon, Gyeongnam, Daegu, and Gyeonggi, from early this month until recently, and installing illegal cameras.

Among the remaining five locations, cameras had already disappeared at three sites, and at the other two, Mr. A was found to have retrieved the cameras himself after attempting installation.
According to the investigation, Mr. A disguised the cameras by attaching stickers with the name of a specific telecommunications company, making them appear as communication devices. During the police investigation, he claimed, "I wanted to monitor the National Election Commission manipulating the early voting rates," and added, "I chose installation locations based on my own judgment criteria for places I wanted to monitor."
Mr. A, active as a YouTuber, continuously raised suspicions of election fraud. It was confirmed that he also installed cameras inside early voting stations during the 2022 presidential election and last year's by-election for the Gangseo District Office in Seoul. He posted videos requesting an investigation by the Supreme Prosecutors' Office, claiming discrepancies between the number of vote counters announced by the National Election Commission and the number of voters shown in the footage from the cameras he installed.
