‘Planet of the Apes’ Visual Effects Team Visits Korea
The visual effects team from Weta FX, the company behind the movie 'Planet of the Apes: New Era,' will visit Korea on the 23rd and 24th, Walt Disney Company Korea announced on the 5th.
Visual effects supervisor Eric Winquist and Korean crew members, senior facial modeler Seungseok Kim and motion capture tracker Suryul Sun, who participated in the film, will meet with domestic media and audiences. The team plans to share behind-the-scenes stories about the film, which applied various technologies such as 'performance capture' that captures actors' facial expressions onto ape characters.

Set to be released on the 8th of next month, 'Planet of the Apes: New Era' depicts the journey of an ape named Noah who, along with a human girl, seeks freedom while confronting the ape leader Proximus's army that aims to dominate humans in an oasis where evolved apes and devolved humans coexist. The film is directed by Wes Ball, who is determined to present a franchise distinct from the existing series.
