Seongdong-gu Completes Inspection of Sewage Facilities Around Large Construction Sites Before Rainy Season
Inspection of Sewer Facilities at 20 Large Construction Sites by April 26 to Prepare for Summer Heavy Rain
Checking Proper Sewer Installation and Establishing Flood Prevention Measures to Prevent Flood Damage
Seongdong-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jung Won-oh) will conduct inspections of sewage facilities such as sewer pipes and rainwater inlets around large construction sites from April 8 to 26 to prevent damage caused by heavy summer rains.
The inspection targets 20 large construction sites with a total floor area of 10,000㎡ or more. Seongdong-gu plans to promptly identify and address areas where sediment accumulation and damage to sewage facilities due to heavy summer rains are expected, thereby preventing flood damage in advance.
The inspection items include ▲appropriateness of sewer installation ▲deterioration of sewer facility functions ▲safety check of sewer pipes around construction site entrances and exits ▲occurrence of road subsidence due to damage to public sewage facilities ▲installation of drainage channels to prevent sediment outflow ▲establishment of flood and wind disaster prevention measures ▲storage and management status of materials and equipment.
Four inspection teams, each consisting of two members, will inspect construction sites, provide maintenance guidance, check sewer pipes using CCTV, and consult with 'sewer specialists' and external experts if necessary.
Urgent or minor issues found during inspections will be addressed immediately on-site. For issues that cannot be immediately resolved, a corrective action plan will be submitted and maintenance will be completed before the rainy season begins. If serious defects that are difficult to address immediately are discovered, re-inspections will be conducted with relevant experts.
