40s Male Arrested for Entering Unlocked Vacant House and Stealing Valuables
On the 3rd, according to Gwangju Nambu Police Station, a warrant for the arrest of a man in his 40s, Mr. A, was requested on charges of breaking into empty houses during late-night hours and stealing valuables (nighttime residential burglary).
Mr. A is accused of stealing 200,000 won in cash from a house in Juwol-dong, Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, around 12:20 a.m. on the 20th of last month and fleeing the scene.
In addition, Mr. A also broke into another commercial building in Juwol-dong where a window was open but failed to find any valuables, resulting in an attempted crime.
Police investigation revealed that Mr. A committed these crimes due to a lack of living expenses.

The police requested the arrest warrant citing that Mr. A, who had previously been sentenced to imprisonment for similar offenses, committed this crime during his probation period.
