Actor Lee Byung-hun Receives Honorary Citizenship of Florence, Italy
"Seems Like It Will Remain as a Very Good Memory"
Actor Lee Byung-hun received the Florence Honorary Citizenship Certificate at the Florence Korean Film Festival, which ended on the 30th of last month.
The Florence Korean Film Festival is a cultural exchange platform that introduces outstanding Korean films to Italy. This year’s special exhibition prominently featured Lee’s works. These included the opening film Concrete Utopia (2023), as well as Jumping into the Blue (2001), A Bittersweet Life (2005), That Summer (2006), Masquerade (2012), Inside Men (2015), and Keys to the Heart (2018).

Lee introduced these works and shared his acting philosophy during a master class. He also named Florence as his favorite city in Italy. The organizers responded by awarding him the Florence Honorary Citizenship Certificate. Lee said, “It is an honor. This will remain a very precious memory,” and added, “If I have the chance, I will visit again.”
