Seongnam City Sends Advance Notice for Disclosure of List of High-Amount Tax Delinquents Over 10 Million Won
Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province has sent advance notices ahead of the public disclosure of the list of high-amount and habitual tax delinquents.
The advance notice targets 29 individuals whose total amount of local administrative sanctions and imposed charges (non-tax revenue) has been overdue for more than one year as of January 1 this year, with a total delinquent amount of 10 million KRW or more. Their total outstanding amount is 2.57 billion KRW.
Seongnam City plans to send advance notices to high-amount habitual delinquents to urge payment of the outstanding amounts and provide a six-month opportunity for explanation until September 30 to encourage voluntary payment.
The information to be disclosed includes the delinquent person's name, business name (corporate name), age, occupation, address, type of delinquent amount, payment deadline, and details of the delinquency. In the case of corporations, the representative of the corporation will also be disclosed.
Delinquents (including corporations) who receive the notice can be excluded from the public disclosure list if they pay more than 50% of the delinquent amount or reduce the delinquent amount to less than 10 million KRW by September 30.
However, Seongnam City will exclude from the list those who submit relevant proof documents during the explanation period in cases such as ▲ receiving collection deferral after approval of rehabilitation plan ▲ currently paying in installments ▲ filing objections, appeals, or administrative lawsuits ▲ or cases of corporate liquidation completion (deemed).
