Merck Korea Integrates Subsidiary Corporations for 'Efficient Business Purposes'
MK Chemical, Integrated into Versum Materials
Semiconductor materials company Merck announced on the 1st that it will merge M Chemical Co., Ltd. and Versum Materials Korea Co., Ltd. as part of simplifying its Korean subsidiary. The domestic subsidiary M Chemical, acquired by Merck in 2021, will be integrated into Merck's Korean branch's semiconductor business corporation, Versum Materials Korea.

View original imageSince the merger with Versum Materials in 2019, Merck Korea, which has 10 corporations, explained that this move was made for efficient business integration. Previously, Merck announced a 600 million euro investment plan in Korea in 2021 to expand its semiconductor solutions business, and last year, acquired M Chemical.

Merck expects that strengthening its business capabilities in this way will contribute to the semiconductor cluster development being promoted in Korea. Kim Woo-kyu, CEO of Merck Korea, said, "Even after this corporate integration, we will continue to strive to build a win-win partnership with customers through supply chain expansion and advanced technology development."
