Beijing Film Festival Invites 5 Korean Films Including 'Pamyoo'
Five Korean films, including 'Pawmo', the first movie this year to surpass 10 million viewers, will be screened in Beijing.
The Korean Film Council announced on the 1st that the films selected for the Panorama section of the 14th Beijing International Film Festival, opening on the 18th, include 'Pawmo' (director Jang Jae-hyun), 'Traveler's Necessity' (director Hong Sang-soo), 'It's Okay, It's Okay, It's Okay!' (director Kim Hye-young), 'What Must Be Done' (director Park Hong-jun), and 'Picnic' (director Kim Yong-gyun).
'Traveler's Necessity', which recently won the Jury Grand Prize at the 74th Berlin International Film Festival, was invited to the Dimension section, and 'It's Okay, It's Okay, It's Okay!', which received the Silver Bear, was invited to the Women's Choice section. 'Pawmo' will be screened in the Carnival Midnight Thrill section.

The Korean Film Council stated, "Since 2017, only one Korean film, 'Oh! Moon-hee' (December 2021), has been released in China," adding, "Given the rarity of recent Korean films being screened at Chinese film festivals, this invitation is exceptional."
