View original imageHanwha Ocean announced on the 1st that it has appointed Philippe Levy, former president of SBM Offshore, as the new head of its Marine Business Division.
Having worked at SBM Offshore for over 25 years, he contributed to the company's growth into a leading engineering firm playing a pivotal role in the global marine industry. In 2020, he served as president of SBM Offshore's U.S. branch.
Recently, he participated as a standing advisor for CNOOC in a joint venture co-founded by ExxonMobil, Hess, and China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC), which is involved in marine development in Guyana, providing execution strategies for FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) and LNG development.
As the new head, Philippe Levy plans to lead innovative changes in Hanwha Ocean’s Marine Business Division based on his global marine expertise and extensive experience managing numerous oil and gas projects. Hanwha Ocean’s Marine Business Division aims to transform into an EPCIO (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation, and Operation) solution provider for various floating marine facilities such as FPSO and FLNG (Floating Liquefied Natural Gas production facilities), as well as marine renewable energy-related businesses.
Hanwha Ocean’s Marine Business Division will operate its organization primarily in North America and Europe, where projects and customers are concentrated. Through this, it plans to provide project execution capabilities and knowledge-based operational models that combine marine business cultures from Asia, the Americas, and Europe.
