Woods Tours Augusta Course... 'Ready for Masters' Departure'
Chairman Ridley Reviews Practice Round with Thomas
Official Announcement on Masters Participation Coming Soon
The "Golf Emperor" Tiger Woods (USA) has prepared to compete in the Masters.
On the 30th (local time), American Sports Illustrated (SI) and Golf Channel reported, "Woods visited Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia, where the Masters tournament is held. He is scheduled to play a practice round with Fred Ridley, chairman of Augusta Golf Club, and Justin Thomas (USA)." It is not known how long Woods will stay at Augusta Golf Club or how many holes he will play. Although Woods has not officially announced his participation in this year's Masters, his course reconnaissance at the tournament strongly suggests he will compete.

Woods has overcome injuries this year and returned to the field. He participated in last month's PGA Tour Genesis Invitational but withdrew before completing the second round due to cold symptoms. He also did not participate in the Players Championship, known as the "fifth major." Last year at the Masters, he withdrew before the third round and subsequently underwent surgery on his right ankle. Woods has won a total of 15 major championships and has claimed the Masters title five times (1997, 2001, 2002, 2005, and 2019). This year's Masters tournament will begin on April 11.
