Seongdong-gu Implements Emergency Transport Measures in Preparation for City Bus Strike
Temporary Route Established and Total 37 Free Shuttle Buses Connecting Subway Operated
11 Village Buses Increased Operation Within the Area
Seongdong-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jung Won-oh) has activated the Emergency Transportation Countermeasures Headquarters in response to the Seoul City Bus Labor Union's strike and is implementing measures to minimize inconvenience to residents.
Compared to other districts, Seongdong-gu has many village bus routes and a wide operating area, so the number of village bus runs during commuting hours in areas served by village bus routes will be increased to improve transportation capacity.
Additionally, in areas such as Seongsu, Sageun, Geumho, Oksu, and Majang, where village bus routes are limited and there is high dependence on branch buses, five temporary routes have been established and a total of 30 charter buses have been deployed.
Among them, 20 buses are concentrated during commuting hours at approximately 15-minute intervals to minimize inconvenience for office workers, while during daytime hours, 10 buses operate at approximately 30-minute intervals.
Furthermore, a total of seven official vehicles from the district office, including three buses and four vans, are on standby as reserve vehicles.
The district has previously informed residents about alternative transportation options through the Seongdong-gu Office website, social media, electronic administrative services, and announcements in apartment complexes.
