Monitoring Illegal Filming Prevention and Safety Bells in Public Restrooms to Prepare for Spring Festival Tourists
On the 27th, Mokpo City in Jeollanam-do conducted inspections and monitoring activities for illegal cameras in public restrooms to create a safe environment ahead of the Yudalsan Spring Festival.
According to the city on the 28th, about 30 people, including the Mokpo Police Station and the Women-Friendly City Citizen Participation Group, jointly inspected the public restrooms in Yudalsan Park for △presence of illegal hidden cameras △operation of safety bells △and the operational status of the restroom facilities.

A city official stated, “Recently, crimes related to illegal filming have been increasing, and with the distribution of videos causing secondary damage, it has emerged as a serious social crime. Therefore, we will continue to promote preventive activities such as inspections of illegal cameras in public restrooms together with the Citizen Participation Group to create a safe Mokpo free from digital crimes.”
He also added, “Together with the Citizen Participation Group, we plan to continue inspections of illegal cameras in public restrooms during various events hosted by the city this year, including the 53rd National Youth Sports Festival, the 18th National Disabled Students Sports Festival, and the Mokpo Harbor Festival.”
