Going forward, the two ministries will hold a high-level policy council quarterly to discuss major policy directions and cooperate as needed. They also agreed to form a working-level consultative body to strive for tangible results.
In particular, they will make efforts to ensure that the effects of policies related to urgent issues directly connected to people's livelihoods, such as the abolition of the Device Distribution Act to reduce the burden of purchasing devices, are felt by the public. They also plan to prepare a forum for discussions to promote industry development in response to changes in the media environment, such as the spread of digital platforms and online video services (OTT).
Kang Dohyun, the 2nd Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and ICT, said, "If we thoroughly consider things from the public's perspective and work as one team to implement policies, the results will directly benefit the people."
