KB Kookmin Bank Establishes Korea Desk in Poland
KB Kookmin Bank announced on the 26th that it has signed a contract to establish a Korea Desk, a local office equivalent, with Poland's Pekao Bank.
Pekao Bank is the second-largest bank in Poland (by assets) and has strengths in corporate finance and trade finance. In October 2022, KB Kookmin Bank's London branch signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Pekao Bank, establishing a strategic partnership, and since then, they have continuously pursued discussions regarding the establishment of the Korea Desk with Pekao Bank.
A KB Kookmin Bank official stated, "The establishment of the Korea Desk has laid the foundation for entering the Eastern European market," adding, "Based on the strong cooperative will of both companies, we will actively support Korean companies and partners entering Poland by providing competitive financial services such as local currency loans."
Furthermore, with the signing of the contract between the two companies, they plan to strengthen cooperation in the corporate investment banking (CIB) and trade finance sectors within Poland.
