Additional Openings in Miryang and Yeosu
Established in 7 Regions Nationwide

Kyowon Group announced on the 26th that it has expanded the ‘Kyowon Edutech Classroom’ to 7 locations nationwide this year to bridge the educational gap in IT-disadvantaged areas.

Since 2021, Kyowon Group has been conducting sharing activities by operating the ‘Kyowon Edutech Classroom’ to address regional educational disparities using its expertise in edutech. Schools in areas with relatively poor IT infrastructure and educational environments are selected to receive classroom remodeling and support for edutech educational programs.

The program is currently operating in five schools starting from Cheonan, Chungnam, including Taebaek in Gangwon, Gwangju in Gyeonggi, Gumi in Gyeongbuk, and Gochang in Jeonbuk. This year, with the addition of Miryang in Gyeongnam and Yeosu in Jeonnam, the ‘Kyowon Edutech Classroom’ system has been established across 7 regions nationwide.

The newly opened edutech classrooms are located at Milseong Elementary School (6th branch) in Miryang, Gyeongnam, and Museon Elementary School (7th branch) in Yeosu, Jeonnam. Kyowon Group transformed unused spaces within the schools into classrooms suitable for smart education and provided Kyowon I Can Do coding products, book sets, and necessary tablet PCs free of charge for edutech education. Additionally, training programs were offered to current teachers to help them conduct classes using edutech programs, creating a comprehensive educational environment where students can grow into creative talents in a comfortable setting.

Through this, the program provides equal educational opportunities beyond regional and environmental constraints and guides students to grow into future talents equipped with creative and convergent problem-solving skills. Kyowon Edutech Classrooms across the country are used not only for coding classes utilizing I Can Do coding but also as spaces for after-school activities such as creative experiences.

Kim Dong-jun, the teacher in charge at Milseong Elementary School in Miryang, which benefited from the 6th Kyowon Edutech Classroom, said, “We are very grateful to be able to open a coding-dedicated classroom called the Edutech Classroom,” and added, “We will use it as a learning space where students with IT-related dreams, such as 5th and 6th graders taking coding classes and participating in after-school clubs, can freely use and grow.”

A Kyowon Group official stated, “We have expanded the edutech classroom support project nationwide to reduce the digital education gap between regions and foster creative talents,” and added, “We will continue to actively fulfill our corporate social responsibility so that more children can freely engage in activities in the edutech classrooms and nurture their dreams as future leaders who will lead society.”
