Muscle Tension of the 20s and 30s Generations United is Relieved by a Compact Massager
Health Digging and Healthy Pleasure Trends Noted Among the 2030 Generation
Forming a More Affordable Price Range Compared to Massage Chairs
Mid-sized home appliance companies are consecutively launching compact massagers. This is to target the health-conscious 20s and 30s generation. Unlike expensive massage chairs, compact massagers are less costly and allow users to massage only the desired areas, which is why they are gaining popularity among people in their 20s and 30s.

Cozyma, which sells massage chairs, has assembled a lineup of about 40 types of compact massagers, including back and waist massagers, hand massagers, and foot massagers.
On the 14th, they released the wireless calf massager ‘Cozyskinny.’ This product was introduced to address the common issue of swollen calves experienced by those with busy daily lives. Equipped with powerful air pressure technology and four air cells, it provides a sensation similar to hand kneading. The air intensity can be adjusted in three levels to relax muscles according to the user’s condition.
The most popular foot massager among Cozyma’s compact massagers, the ‘Cozystool,’ can also be used as a stool chair or footrest. It is designed to provide rolling acupressure and three-dimensional air massage when foot massage is needed.
Shinil Electronics introduced the ‘3D Air Massage Mat’ last October, which allows users to comfortably receive massages while lying down. Sixteen air pockets help with muscle contraction and relaxation. The massage is performed using a stretching method that gently loosens joints and muscles by lightly moving the body.
Cuckoo also unveiled the Lineature calf and foot massager at the end of last year. Its kneading and acupressure functions stimulate and relax tense muscles, relieving fatigue accumulated in the calves and feet.
The industry is quickly releasing products to capture the 20s and 30s generation, who have shown increased interest in health management. Recently, health-conscious consumption trends such as Health Digging and Healthy Pleasure have been spreading among people in their 20s and 30s. Health Digging is a newly coined term combining ‘digging,’ meaning to dig deeply, and ‘health,’ referring to people who deeply immerse themselves in health. Healthy Pleasure combines ‘pleasure,’ meaning joy, and ‘healthy,’ referring to health, describing health management that pursues enjoyment.

Compared to massage chairs costing millions of won, the price range of compact massagers from 50,000 won to 500,000 won is also a factor attracting the 20s and 30s generation. An industry insider explained, “Young people tend to find it burdensome to spend a large amount of money at once and to accommodate bulky massage chairs. They prefer compact massagers that are affordable and sized to massage only the areas they want.”
