Gyeonggi-do to Improve Environment of 10 Public Libraries... 2.34 Billion KRW Support Provided
Gyeonggi Province will support environmental improvement projects for 10 old public libraries that have been built for over 10 years.
As of the end of last year, a total of 319 public libraries are operating within the province.
Gyeonggi Province announced on the 26th that it will invest a total project cost of 2.34 billion KRW, including 720 million KRW of provincial funds this year, to support 10 libraries that require urgent project implementation so that residents can use public libraries, which are multi-use facilities, safely and comfortably.
The libraries eligible for support are ▲Gapyeong-gun Cheongpyeong Library ▲Goyang-si Daehwa Library ▲Gwangju-si Chowol Library ▲Gimpo-si Tongjin Library ▲Namyangju-si Hwado Library ▲Siheung-si Wolgot Library ▲Anyang-si Children’s Library ▲Yangpyeong-gun Jipyeong Library ▲Paju-si Gyohwa Library ▲Pocheon-si Yeongjung Kkumnamu Library.
The support projects include rooftop waterproofing work, replacement of outdated restrooms and systems, and space improvements.

Kim Dong-ju, head of the Library Policy Division of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "To expand residents' rights to enjoy library culture, we will continue to focus on both the expansion of new public libraries and the environmental improvement of aging libraries."
