Yulchon LLC (Representative Attorney Kang Seok-hoon) held a seminar on "Analysis of Regulatory Trends in the Financial Industry" on the 21st.
Regulations applied to the financial industry have been rapidly enacted and amended recently, including the introduction of the duty structure for executives of financial companies under the Act on the Governance of Financial Companies. In response, Yulchon's Financial Regulation Team organized the seminar to share the latest information on key issues in each field under the themes of "Digital Finance," "Anti-Money Laundering (AML)," and "Internal Control Systems."
The seminar began with opening remarks by Attorney Shin Young-soo (58, Judicial Research and Training Institute Class 26), head of Yulchon's Corporate Legal Affairs and Finance Division, followed by three thematic presentations. The first presenter, Attorney Jung Se-jin (44, 3rd Bar Exam), gave a presentation titled "Digital Finance Legal Issues to Watch in 2024."
Next, Specialist Lee Ho-jae presented on "2023 AML Trends and Sanction Cases." He emphasized, "As financial supervisory authorities plan to strengthen AML-related inspections and sanctions, financial companies need to continuously check whether their AML internal control systems and frameworks are being properly operated." The final session was delivered by Attorney Kim Si-mok (49, Class 33) on the topic "Trends and Issues in Internal Control and Duty Structures."
The Yulchon Financial Regulation Team, which hosted the seminar, consists of over 50 experts. They provide advisory services including bank internal control and governance compliance, comprehensive inspection responses for financial companies, legal advice and representation for new licensing, consulting on financial companies' digital business ventures, and AML-related work.
