Jungjingong to Train 55,000 Innovative Talents to Lead SME Growth
16,500 Smart Manufacturing, 3,300 Regional Specialization
6,500 Technology and Policy Training Participants, etc.
The Small and Medium Business Corporation (SBC) announced on the 25th that it is recruiting trainees for the '2024 Training Program' to cultivate talent that will lead the innovative growth of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and ventures. Through six training centers, SBC operates courses such as ▲job competency enhancement training ▲policy-oriented training ▲online training ▲CEO training, having trained over 50,000 talents last year. This year, it will focus on establishing training courses to respond to changes in the industrial environment and policies of SMEs and ventures, such as digital manufacturing innovation, concentrating on cultivating core personnel.
Notably, to nurture smart manufacturing personnel, practical training courses will be operated to support the innovative growth of SMEs. Through courses like 'Smart Factory Establishment and Implementation Practice' and 'ESG and Carbon Neutral Smart Factory System Construction,' SBC plans to train 16,500 specialized personnel in the smart manufacturing field.
Additionally, to respond to the crisis of regional extinction and alleviate manpower shortages in local companies, a total of 220 training courses linked to regional industries, such as 'Understanding Core Technologies of Future Automobiles' and 'System Semiconductor Manufacturing Process Training,' will be operated to cultivate 3,300 talents for regional SMEs.
Furthermore, SBC will provide training courses related to policy changes, such as the expanded application of the Serious Accident Punishment Act to workplaces with fewer than 50 employees, supporting SMEs and ventures in quick on-site responses.
In particular, to address the recent shortage of production personnel in manufacturing sites, SBC plans to expand the target trainees, which have been mainly SME employees, to include foreign workers and foreign students this year, encouraging the entry of potential manpower into the labor market. Root technology training such as mold making, welding, and surface treatment, which were conducted only in offline group courses, will be offered concurrently online to improve accessibility for trainees.
SBC also plans to strengthen its function as a public training institute by expanding the opening of training facilities to SMEs and their employees. In addition to existing classrooms and auditoriums, it will expand access to auxiliary facilities such as accommodations, playgrounds, and sports facilities, and establish an online reservation system to enhance welfare and convenience for SME employees using the facilities.
