Gyeonggi Office of Education Expands Neulbom Shared School Program Outside School Premises
The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education is expanding the Neulbom program beyond schools by operating various Neulbom shared schools that utilize local human and material resources.
Neulbom shared schools are school-outreach Neulbom programs that disperse the demand for Neulbom in overcrowded schools and provide high-quality educational care in rural schools and small urban schools where it is difficult to open programs due to poor educational environments or low student numbers.
Currently, 104 institutions, including universities, religious facilities, art associations, and small libraries, are participating in Neulbom shared schools.
The main educational programs include ▲Physical Education (dance, golf, jump rope) ▲Orchestra ▲Creative Science ▲Traditional Games ▲Character Education ▲Language (Chinese, English, Japanese, etc.), with over 6,000 students participating from 200 schools across the province.
The Provincial Office of Education plans to strengthen the role of the Neulbom Support Centers at the Education Support Offices to not only support Neulbom programs within schools but also expand Neulbom shared school programs outside schools utilizing local resources.
