Gyeonggawon Signs Business Agreement with Gwangju Metropolitan City AI Industry Convergence Project Group
The Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency has joined hands with the Artificial Intelligence Industry Convergence Project Group located in Gwangju Metropolitan City to foster and revitalize the artificial intelligence (AI) industry.
On the 22nd, Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency announced that Kang Seong-cheon, the head of the agency, and Kwak Jae-do, acting director of the Artificial Intelligence Industry Convergence Project Group, signed a business agreement at the first-floor conference room of the Gwangju AI Industry Convergence Project Group.
According to the agreement, the two organizations will cooperate in various fields including ▲ discovering and operating joint cooperation programs to activate the AI industry ▲ joint cooperation for training personnel in the AI industry sector ▲ supporting infrastructure held by each other for fostering and demonstrating the AI industry.

View original imageThe Artificial Intelligence Industry Convergence Project Group was established in 2020 and serves as a hub for the growth of the Gwangju AI industry. In particular, it is promoting the creation of an AI cluster necessary for building a data-centered AI data center and demonstration center, supporting AI startups and companies, and nurturing AI talent to create an AI industry convergence ecosystem.
Through this agreement, the Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency plans to utilize the infrastructure of the AI cluster to demonstrate various AI technologies and services and support companies within the province.
Additionally, based on this agreement, the two organizations plan to continue cooperation aiming to realize ‘AI+Gyeonggi’ by discovering 50 AI innovative companies and training 1,000 AI personnel.

Kang Seong-cheon, head of the Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency, stated, "We plan to establish an AI alliance between Gyeonggi-do and Gwangju Metropolitan City to take the lead in activating AI, the future industrial engine of both regions," adding, "We will actively strive for the growth and development of the AI industry within Gyeonggi-do."
