Honam University Department of Aviation Service, ESG Participation Major Volunteer Field Learning
The Department of Aviation Service at Honam University conducted a 'Major Volunteer Field Trip' (Field Trip, hereafter FT) on the 18th and 19th at Kumho Resort in Hwasun, Jeonnam.
Attended by all faculty members and students of the Department of Aviation Service, this FT aimed to raise awareness among students about ESG management issues such as environmental protection and improvement, which are being emphasized by airlines. As part of ESG activities, the event promoted environmental awareness and conducted surveys to foster a sense of urgency regarding environmental problems. During this FT, participants showed a strong commitment to actively reducing the use of disposable products.
Additionally, students participating in the FT, as aviation service majors, received safety training including first aid, CPR, and fire suppression to prepare for emergency situations.
Following this, in the 'Vision Declaration Contest' with 10 teams including Chinese international students, the 'Sseuk~ Team' (ESSG Team, led by Jo Suho and 7 others), who proposed the 'On-Campus Environmental Protection Activity Certification System,' donated proceeds from eco-friendly soap sales, and pledged to operate a semester-end flea market, won the grand prize along with tumblers as awards.
Moreover, through activities such as a mini Olympics and recreation, seniors and juniors cooperated and enjoyed a pleasant time getting closer.
