The Ministry of the Interior and Safety inspected the cyber threat response system ahead of the National Assembly election scheduled for April 10.
On the 21st, Vice Minister Ko Gi-dong visited the National Information Resources Service located in Daejeon to review the preparations for the 22nd National Assembly election. Since the start of the voter list compilation on the 19th, the National Information Resources Service has been intensively monitoring key systems and strengthening the cyber threat response system in preparation for the general election.

View original imageVice Minister Ko checked the network system, including the national information communication network linked between the National Election Commission and local governments for vote counting and election statistics, as well as the readiness status.
First, to ensure stable communication network operation during the election period, he received a report on the progress of intensive traffic monitoring on the National Election Commission’s linked lines and plans to secure additional bandwidth in case of increased traffic. They also discussed response plans in case of disruptions to related services such as the National Election Commission website due to DDoS attacks.
Additionally, Vice Minister Ko inspected the preparation status for the stable operation of election-related systems such as the resident registration system and Government24, as well as the operation plan for the emergency monitoring task force.
