Korea Rail Network Authority Wins Consultant Contract for Mumbai Depot in India
The Korea Rail Network Authority announced on the 21st that it has won a general consultant contract worth 3.8 billion KRW for the "Line 6 Depot and Ancillary Works" project commissioned by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority in India.
The service involves overall consultancy including project management, technical supervision, quality and quantity assurance, contract management, interface management, and design verification.

View original imageWinning the Mumbai consultant contract is significant as the Rail Network Authority secured the project by outperforming multinational engineering firms and local Indian companies. Previously, the Authority won the general consultant contract for Phase 1 of the Lucknow Metro in India in 2016.
The service will commence next month and will be jointly carried out with local companies over 30 months. The depot consists of 18 stabling tracks, 3 inspection bays, and 4 maintenance workshops, supporting the operation of the 15.18 km section of Mumbai Line 6.
