Jinju City Holds 'Next Year's National and Provincial Funding Securing Progress Report Meeting'
Efforts to Secure National and Provincial Funding for Stable Advancement of Future Growth Engines and Key Projects
Jinju City in Gyeongnam held a '2025 National and Provincial Subsidy Securing Progress Report Meeting' chaired by Mayor Cho Gyu-il, attended by senior officials including heads of departments.
The report meeting held on the 20th was organized to discuss strategic plans for securing national and provincial subsidies in line with the government's ongoing fiscal austerity policy and to ensure the smooth progress of major pending projects.

View original imageJinju City's target amount for securing national and provincial subsidies next year is 641 billion KRW, a 5% increase compared to this year. The meeting focused on key new projects such as establishing a full-cycle standardization hub for natural material resources, expanding the living resource recovery center, and constructing an urban forest family healing recharge station.
Additionally, ongoing projects such as the construction of a multipurpose cultural center along the Namgang River, creation of the Jinju Local Garden in the Wolasan Forest, construction of the Jeongchon sports facility (swimming pool), and the Green Bio Venture Campus development project were reviewed to ensure stable progress through subsidy securing efforts.
Mayor Cho stated, “Competition for securing national subsidies will become more intense due to deteriorating tax revenue conditions,” and urged, “Please establish systematic strategies and actively engage in subsidy securing activities to secure future growth engines and enhance the completeness of pending projects.”

Meanwhile, in February, the city conducted capacity-building training for over 150 employees from related departments to enhance their skills in securing national and provincial subsidies. The city plans to supplement the projects discussed at this meeting and carry out phased subsidy securing activities in accordance with the government budget proposal and National Assembly review stages.
