The Field Communication Forum supports the establishment and implementation of field-centered policies by discussing SME issues and suggesting policy directions based on the vivid voices from the field.

Sixteen members with extensive knowledge and experience from industry, academia, and research sectors were appointed as members of the Field Communication Forum. They will provide advisory services on SME policies for the next year.

Among the advisory members, Professor Kim Yang-hee of Daegu University, who also serves as the head of the Economic, Trade, and Development Research Department at the Korea National Diplomatic Academy, is a global trade expert expected to present SME response strategies to the changing domestic and international economic environment.

Professor Jeong Hwan of Konkuk University's Department of Business Administration, a distribution expert who previously served as president of the Korea Distribution Association, will provide various policy advice for revitalizing domestic demand, including win-win measures between small business owners and the distribution industry.

Lee Ye-ha, CEO of VUNO, an entrepreneur who founded a medical AI solution company after conducting AI research at Samsung Electronics’ Advanced Institute of Technology, is expected to convey vivid voices from the field regarding advanced technology development and policies for startups and venture companies.

After awarding appointment letters to the forum members, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups held a meaningful session to explore future SME policy directions by discussing policy tasks discovered through about 30 field visits and policy analyses since Minister Oh Young-joo’s inauguration.

Minister Oh Young-joo stated, “We are preparing a comprehensive SME plan for the future based on new policy implications shown by field opinions and data, which will be announced soon. I ask that the Field Communication Forum become a compass that understands the realities and difficulties of SMEs and develops practical and flexible policies accordingly, starting with today’s launch ceremony.”
