Gyeonggi-do G-Mark Agricultural Products Sales Recover to Pre-COVID Levels... 979.1 Billion KRW Last Year
Sales of G-Mark agricultural products, a brand of agricultural products from Gyeonggi Province, have recovered to pre-COVID-19 levels.
Gyeonggi Province announced on the 21st that the sales of G-Mark agricultural products certified by the governor dropped to 843.4 billion KRW in 2020 due to COVID-19 but recovered to 979.1 billion KRW in 2023, reaching 99.2% of the pre-COVID-19 level in 2019 (986.8 billion KRW).
By product category, livestock products accounted for 393.5 billion KRW, or 40.2%. This was followed by ▲ grains 197.8 billion KRW (20.2%) ▲ kimchi varieties 106.8 billion KRW (10.9%) ▲ fruits 55.4 billion KRW (5.7%) ▲ mushrooms 50.1 billion KRW (5.1%) ▲ vegetables 37.9 billion KRW (3.9%).

This was followed by agricultural cooperatives (16.8%), others including online sales, military supplies, and franchises (13.9%), wholesale markets (13.6%), large discount stores (10.7%), department stores (1.7%), and exports (0.6%).
Gyeonggi Province plans to promote G-Mark certified businesses this year by organizing discount events such as producing and selling representative agricultural specialty products by city and county through the online shopping mall ‘Market Gyeonggi’.

Meanwhile, Gyeonggi Province revised and promulgated the ‘Gyeonggi Province Excellent Food Certification Management Ordinance’ in January. The ordinance improves the system to strengthen the certification and post-management of G-Mark certified agricultural and marine products, allowing consumers to use food with greater confidence.
