Police Considering Murder Charges
A man in his 70s who wielded a weapon at a security guard and fled from an apartment in Gimpo-si, Gyeonggi Province, was arrested by the police.
On the 18th, the Gimpo Police Station announced that they had urgently arrested and were investigating Mr. A (in his 70s) on suspicion of attempted murder. Mr. A is accused of stabbing security guard Mr. B (in his 60s) with a weapon at an apartment in Unyang-dong, Gimpo, around 7:20 a.m. that day, attempting to kill him. Mr. B sustained injuries to his hand and other areas and was transported to a nearby hospital by the 119 emergency medical team who responded to the report. He is receiving treatment and is reported to be in stable condition.
At around noon on the same day, the police searched Mr. A’s residence and found his ex-wife, Ms. C (in her 60s), deceased. The police suspect that Mr. A killed Ms. C before attacking Mr. B with the weapon.

The police analyzed closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage near the apartment and apprehended Mr. A, who was hiding in a motel in Goyang-si, six hours after the incident. The police plan to conduct further investigations and consider applying murder charges against Mr. A.
