Yoo Il-jun "Maybe Possible Up to No. 30" Expectation
The People Power Party's satellite proportional representation party, People’s Future, announced the order of 35 proportional representation candidates on the 18th. Women were placed in odd-numbered positions and men in even-numbered positions, resulting in 18 women, one more than men.
People’s Future placed Choi Boyoon (45), a female lawyer with disabilities and a member of the Human Rights Management Committee at the Korea Employment Agency for the Disabled, as the number 1 proportional representation candidate. Yoo Iljun, chairman of the nomination management committee, introduced Choi as "a person who has taken the lead in protecting the rights and interests of socially vulnerable groups such as people with disabilities."
At number 2, Park Chungkwon (38), a North Korean defector and research fellow at Hyundai Steel, was listed. Chairman Yoo said, "As a North Korean defector with an engineering background, we expect him to contribute to the values of South Korea’s liberal democracy and scientific advancement."

Number 5 is Kang Sunyoung (57), former commander of the Army Aviation Operations Command and the first female army brigadier general. Numbers 6 and 7 went to Kim Gun (57), former head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Korean Peninsula Peace Negotiation Headquarters, and Kim Sohee (50), secretary general of the Climate Change Center, respectively.
Inyohan (64), director of the International Medical Center at Severance Hospital and former chairman of the People Power Party’s Innovation Committee, received number 8, while Lee Sohee (37), a lawyer at Yeomin Joint Law Office who served on the People Power Party’s emergency committee with Inyohan, was assigned number 19.
Number 9 is Kim Minjun (58), a professor at Kyung Hee University, and number 10 is Kim Wisang (64), chairman of the Korean Federation of Trade Unions Daegu Regional Headquarters.
Han Jia (45), associate professor in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at Uijeongbu Eulji University Hospital and a member of the People Power Party’s emergency committee, was assigned number 11.
Among former journalists, Yoo Yongwon (59), former reporter for Chosun Ilbo, and Kim Jangkyum (62), former president of MBC, were recommended as numbers 12 and 14, respectively.

Former presidential office officials also stood out. Kang Sewon (36), former administrative officer at the Presidential Office’s Legal Secretary Office, was assigned number 13, and Ahn Sanghoon (54), former senior secretary for social affairs at the Presidential Office, received number 16. Lee Siwoo, former secretary at the Prime Minister’s Office Public Relations Office, was assigned number 17.
Park Juntae (43), CEO of Crown Labs and former member of the People Power Party’s talent recruitment committee, was given number 18.

For the Honam region, number 22 went to Kim Hwajin (65), former chairman of the People Power Party Jeonnam Provincial Party Committee, and number 24 to Joo Kihwan (63), former chairman of the People Power Party Gwangju City Party Committee.
Kim Minjung (45), the first female chairperson of the conservative party’s staff council, was assigned number 25, and Seo Boseong (54), who served as a party official at the Daegu City Party Office for 25 years, received number 26. Lee Dalhee (62), former deputy governor of Gyeongsangbuk-do, was placed at number 23.

When asked how far he expected candidates to be elected, Chairman Yoo said, "Four years ago, candidates up to number 19 were elected," adding, "Due to reasons such as appointments, the succession extended to number 23," and concluded, "Considering various factors, I think it’s possible for candidates within the top 30 to be elected."
