Gyeonggi-do Conducts Safety Inspections at 318 Sites Including Construction Sites During Thawing Season
Gyeonggi Province will conduct safety inspections of a total of 318 construction sites and other locations across the province by the end of this month in preparation for the thawing season.
The Gyeonggi Provincial Construction Headquarters announced on the 18th that, in accordance with the 'Facility Safety Act,' it will carry out thawing season safety inspections on 42 aging bridges rated C in the regular safety inspections conducted in the second half of last year, as well as 24 cut slopes, 219 embankments, 24 roads under vulnerable facilities, and 9 public buildings.
Gyeonggi Province will conduct safety inspections of construction sites during the thawing season until the end of this month.
View original imageThis inspection will be led by a public-private joint inspection team composed of 195 external experts in the relevant fields (130 in civil engineering and 65 in architecture), along with construction site construction management technicians and construction supervisors.
The Construction Headquarters will not only conduct safety inspections of vulnerable facilities but also carry out accident prevention publicity and education targeting construction site workers.

Hwang Hak-yong, head of the Provincial Construction Headquarters, stated, "We will complete the inspections by March to ensure safety management and maintain good construction quality. Furthermore, we will promptly respond to pothole repairs caused by recent localized heavy snowfall and rainfall to enhance the convenience of road users."
