Gyeonggi-do to Support 'Our Neighborhood Revitalization Project' with 8.3 Billion KRW... Applications Open Until April 17
Gyeonggi Province is publicly recruiting cities and counties to participate in the national public urban regeneration project, ‘Uri Dongne Saligi Project,’ until April 17.
The Uri Dongne Saligi urban regeneration project targets declining areas under the Urban Regeneration Act, such as those with decreasing population and number of businesses or increasing aging housing. It aims to improve deteriorated residential environments and enhance residents' quality of life by supplying and supporting community-oriented public facilities in small-scale low-rise residential areas of around 50,000㎡.
This year, about 10 new sites nationwide will be selected through document evaluation, on-site inspection, and presentation evaluation, with the final sites chosen by the end of June. The project period is four years, from 2025 to 2028, and the project budget is up to 8.3 billion KRW per site, including national and local government funds.
Since starting in 2017 in Jugyo-dong, Goyang City, Gyeonggi Province has been implementing the Uri Dongne Saligi project in a total of nine locations within the province. Among these, two locations, including Goyang City and Anyang City, have completed the project.
In preparation for this year’s public recruitment, Gyeonggi Province conducted a demand survey on the Uri Dongne Saligi urban regeneration project targeting cities and counties, and since February, has been providing focused consulting using expert advisory groups for document review and on-site advice for the applying cities and counties.
Through pre-consulting on the projects applied by cities and counties, Gyeonggi Province supports discovering and specifying projects suitable for local conditions and reflecting highly feasible plans to secure competitiveness in government public projects.
Kim Tae-su, Director of the Urban Regeneration Division of Gyeonggi Province, said, "We will spare no administrative and financial support to breathe new life into declining small-scale low-rise residential areas," and added, "We hope for active interest and participation from local residents."
