Gangbuk-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Lee Soon-hee) is implementing the "2024 Safety Inspection and Maintenance Project for Safety-Vulnerable Households" until December, targeting low-income safety-vulnerable households to inspect and replace electrical leakage breakers, fire detectors, boilers, and other hazardous facilities.
The support targets include ▲basic livelihood security recipients ▲persons with disabilities ▲near-poverty class ▲households with seniors aged 65 or older. The district plans to focus on supporting safety-vulnerable groups exposed to accident risks due to aging residential environments this year.
The main inspection items are ▲electricity (leakage breakers, outlets, etc.) ▲gas (gas pipes, valves, etc.) ▲fire safety (fire detectors, fire extinguishers, etc.) ▲boilers (boiler inspection, replacement of worn consumables), and households wishing to receive support can visit their local community service center with identification and resident registration.
Once selected as a supported household, specialized companies in electricity, gas, and other fields will visit the home to inspect and maintain hazardous facilities, and disaster preparedness safety items such as gas timers and fire detectors will be installed free of charge.
Last year, the district supported 1,280 households with safety inspections and replacement of aging equipment through this project.
