Ukraine Attacks Diesel Tank 5m from Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant
Russia's TASS news agency reported on the 14th (local time) that Ukraine attacked the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, which is occupied by Russia.
The power plant authorities stated on Telegram that "the main infrastructure of the plant was attacked" and claimed that "an explosive device was thrown over the fence near the diesel fuel tank storage area."
They added that the explosive fell 5 meters in front of the fuel tank, saying, "If the tank had been hit, it would have resulted in a terrible outcome." They also mentioned that officials from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) dispatched to the site were informed of the incident.
The Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant is the largest nuclear power plant complex in Europe. Russia took control of the area immediately after launching a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
