Gyeonggi-do to Invest 360 Billion KRW Over 5 Years for Balanced Development in 6 Northeastern Areas
Gyeonggi Province will invest 360 billion KRW over five years to promote balanced development in six northeastern regions of Gyeonggi, including Gapyeong and Yangpyeong.
On the 14th, Gyeonggi Province announced that from 2025 to 2029, it plans to invest a total of 360 billion KRW in provincial funds for the '3rd Regional Balanced Development Project' targeting six cities and counties in the northern and eastern parts of Gyeonggi.
Accordingly, by the end of next month, Gyeonggi Province will receive project proposals from six regions?Gapyeong, Yangpyeong, Yeoncheon, Pocheon, Yeoju, and Dongducheon?and after consulting and conducting feasibility reviews, will establish the '3rd Regional Balanced Development Basic Plan' by October.
Gyeonggi Province will also establish the 'Gyeonggi Regional Balanced Development Support Center' in the first quarter of this year to support the target cities and counties.

Yoon Seong-jin, Director of the Balanced Development Planning Office of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "The regional balanced development project is a project that can drive growth engines in underdeveloped cities and counties within the province. If linked with the large-scale development plans for northern and eastern Gyeonggi, it can create even greater synergy." He added, "We will maintain close cooperation with the Provincial Council and related agencies such as each city and county to promote this project."
